This is a recap of a recent AMA with the devs. The next update will be mid Dec (soon), and they are heavily addressing latency, tickrate and hitreg.

 

No new situations are planned.

The Uni map (article 5) will be released for PvE and PvP.

Implementing Fairfight anticheat.

Voip fix inbound.

Loadout and customizing operators inbetween matches will be added, but is not a priority atm.

Upping the text char char limit.

"something similar" to clan tags in in the works.

No steam workshop support (pretty obvious).

Crazy pings are most likely a result of your client no connecting to the proper datacenter based on your location, they are adding an option to manually select your datacenter.
